CLERMONT'S 1st
JEWISH HOLIDAY COOKBOOK
just
released TO PUBLIC
December 1, 2008 – Clermont, Florida
If you ever
wanted to learn how to prepare delicious, healthy Jewish dishes that you
may have tried; a new, authentic Jewish holiday cookbook is now
available for you to cook delicious meals in your own kitchen.
After many months of collecting Jewish holiday recipes from members of
Congregation Sinai, and their family and friends from across the street
to across the globe, the ladies of Congregation Sinai will begin selling
“More Than A Nosh”, a holiday keepsake cookbook that truly ties
holidays and heritage through the tummy.
This professionally published, 3-ring binder cookbook will include a
free bookstand and will feature over 200 recipes to prepare memorable
meals for Jewish holidays, Shabbat, or for any day of the year. The book
contains a brief history of Congregation Sinai, along with a fundamental
introduction and explanation of major Jewish holidays. The reader will
discover dishes for holidays such as Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot,
Chanukah, Purim, Passover, and Shavuot. In addition, there is a special
“Celebration of Israel” section with many delightful dishes from the
Holy Land. There are also special recipes for Bar & Bat Mitzvahs,
Shabbat & Weddings. Read preserved recipes exchanged between women
prisoners in concentration camps during the Holocaust and learn more
about time-honored Jewish traditions for both celebrations and
commemorations.
From challah, hummus
& latkes; to brisket & matzah ball soup (Jewish penicillin for the cold
& flu season!); to honey cakes & baklava, these delightful recipes will
satisfy every appetite. You don’t have to be Jewish to love latkes!
Congregation Sinai is proud to offer this keepsake cookbook at a cost of
$18 per copy. You can purchase your copy by calling Congregation Sinai
at 352-243-5353, or by visiting Spiro's Pizza on SR50 in Clermont, or
the Red Wing Restaurant in Groveland.
Established in April 2003, Congregation Sinai is a multi-generational
assembly of friends and families, where Jewish expression and religious
beliefs are cultivated and nurtured. The members of Congregation Sinai
have made wonderful progress in their dream of building a temple to
provide a permanent house of prayer for Clermont’s Jewish community.
Thus far, over $11,000 in gross proceeds has been raised from this
cookbook fundraising campaign for Congregation Sinai’s building fund.
